The Gortdrum mine in Ireland is the only mine in the British Isles to have produced natural mercury. It was a by product, but still fascinating. This mine is known for its unusual mineral finds including gortdrumite, cinnabar and native coppers/silver. This piece of Bornite displays wonderful purple ore and what looks to be small pockets of tennanite in places. It is however for selling purpose only listed as Bornite.

Every effort is made to photograph the crystals as accurately as possible, but please allow for slight variations in colour. We do not edit or use filters on our photos, we only photograph in natural daylight. Some materials however, photograph differently to how they look with the naked eye.
